New Recipes from tasteofBBQ.com

Hi,

Welcome to September, that funny month where it's not quite Summer anymore and not enough like Fall that you have to run inside and hug a bowl of comfort food.

But we need to prepare, so here's a couple ideas to get your head in the right place.

First is our new BBQ Turkey Drumsticks recipe (aka Caveman Lollipops) that might remind you of small town fall fairs. These are the real deal and so easy to make at home.

Second is one of my favorites this time of year and a great intro to that comfort food menu, sausage and apple stuffed acorn squash.

Enjoy!

BBQ Turkey Drumsticks

Caveman lollipops. Nothing better than food with a built-in handle!

The real secret to keeping these turkey drumsticks nice and juicy while cooking them low and slow is the brine.

Soak them overnight in the ginger-peppercorn salt brine and then slow roast them on your grill.

A nice basting with a lemon-thyme butter mixture while they cook and then slather on your favorite smoky BBQ sauce.

Sausage & Apple Stuffed Acorn Squash

You don't want to rush Fall, after all that also means Summers over and Winters coming.

But if you're having cravings in September for comfort food I recommend trying this acorn squash stuffed with apple and sausage.

It's got all the prerequisite comfort food ingredients including bacon, maple syrup, cheese and a hint of curry.

How can this be bad?

Have fun with these two recipes and let me know what you think.

Feel free to share this newsletter with your friends.

Until next time,

-Ian
