Citrus Explosion Grilled Chicken Marinade

This easy to make chicken marinade recipe packs a real punch of fresh lemon and lime flavors into grilled chicken, pork or fish.

Try this marinade with this Citrus Infused lemon chicken recipe.

If you can, squeeze your own fresh lemon and lime juice, the results are really a lot better.

Combine that with freshly grated ginger, garlic and lemon zest and your chicken or fish will absorb so much flavor you'll know why I call this a citrus explosion!

If you're using this for fish you'll only need to let it sit a half hour or so, any longer and you'll actually start to cook the fish in the acidic marinade.

Makes approx. 1 cup

Prep Time: 10 minutes

What you'll need:

  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (fresh)
  • 1/4 cup lime juice (fresh)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon freshly diced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes

If you have it on hand try adding a 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom spice to this blend.


Step 1:
Combine the first 4 liquid ingredients in a jar with tight fitting lid and shake to mix well.

Add the remaining dry ingredients to the liquid, replace lid and shake well to mix.

If you want the flavors to really blend and intensify then refrigerate for about 1 hour (optional).

Remove from the refrigerator, shake well to mix and use.
