Serves: 2 - 4

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 6 minutes

Direct Heat: 575F - 600F

Note: for best results marinate 1 - 2 hours

What you'll need:

  • 8 to 12 shelled, deveined Jumbo shrimp

  • 4 (6") skewers (cheap bamboo work fine)

    For the marinade:
  • Juice of 4 fresh lemons (about 1 cup)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh grated lemon zest
  • 4 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worchestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes

    shrimp skewers

    Step 1:
Thread 3 peeled, deveined Jumbo shrimp on a 6" skewer. Repeat this for a total of 4 kabobs (12 shrimp total).

In a glass jar or dish mix together the marinade ingredients well. Make sure the oil and lemon juice blend well.

Place the kabobs in a glass dish and pour the marinade over the skewers.

    Step 2:
Flip the kabobs over several times in the marinade to completely coat them.

Spoon the marinade mixture over the kabobs so the lemon zest, peppers and garlic is soaking on both sides of the shrimp.

    Cover and refrigerate 1-2 hours.

    Step 3:
Clean and oil the BBQ grates well.

Preheat the grill to high, 575F - 600F or higher if you can.

When the grill has reached temperature place the shrimp kabobs on the grill and close the lid.

After 3 - 4 minutes check on the kabobs, with a pair of tongs wiggle the skewers to loosen them from the grates.

If they're turning opaque and showing nice grill marks then flip them over and close the lid.

After another 3 - 4 minutes check on them again.

If they're relatively firm to the touch and browning well with an orange tinge then they're done and ready to remove.

Serve these grilled shrimp kabobs immediately.

    Enjoy!
