Grilled Shrimp Kabobs with Lemon & Garlic flavor explosion
If you love Lemon & Garlic together then you'll love these grilled shrimp kabobs, they're loaded with pure intense flavor.
It's best if you use the juice and the zest from fresh lemons to make sure the flavor really comes through in these grilled kabobs.
Tip, these grilled shrimp don't take very long on a hot grill, about 5 or 6 minutes, so be kind of careful not to overcook them or they may dry out.
If you really want to make a show then the larger 8-12 or 16-20 shrimp are perfect for these grilled kabobs. The numbers mean how many per pound.
Finally, these kabobs get another little zip from the crushed red pepper flakes and worchestershire sauce, as if they needed any more flavor.
Serves: 2 - 4
Prep time: 10 minutes
Direct Heat: 575F - 600F
Note: for best results marinate 1 - 2 hours
In a glass jar or dish mix together the marinade ingredients well. Make sure the oil and lemon juice blend well.
Place the kabobs in a glass dish and pour the marinade over the skewers.
Spoon the marinade mixture over the kabobs so the lemon zest, peppers and garlic is soaking on both sides of the shrimp.
Cover and refrigerate 1-2 hours.
Preheat the grill to high, 575F - 600F or higher if you can.
When the grill has reached temperature place the shrimp kabobs on the grill and close the lid.
After 3 - 4 minutes check on the kabobs, with a pair of tongs wiggle the skewers to loosen them from the grates.
If they're turning opaque and showing nice grill marks then flip them over and close the lid.
After another 3 - 4 minutes check on them again.
If they're relatively firm to the touch and browning well with an orange tinge then they're done and ready to remove.
Serve these grilled shrimp kabobs immediately.
